Pilot 2.1 - Ireland
Neuroclima is an EU-funded project delivered in Ireland by Future In Perspective. It provides citizens, educators and students with innovative AI-powered and creative tools designed specifically for education and discovery around climate topics. The pilot works directly with schools to help students explore climate literacy and sustainability topics through a range of creative, toolkits that focus on practical engagement and creative expression. The participating second level schools also have the opportunity to take part in an EU-wide mural competition, judged by a renowned artist Luís Macedo from Portugal.
- Specific information about participants: Primary and secondary school students, teachers and other educators from county Cavan, Ireland.
- Required prior knowledge: No background in climate science, AI, or related topics is required.
- Participation is voluntary and delivered by the trained facilitators within the FIP team.
The pilot aims to evaluate:
- Participant’s knowledge, awareness and behavioural change regarding key climate topics
- The usability, effectiveness and overall impact of Neuroclima’s digital and non-digital tools
- It is expected that climate knowledge and awareness will be improved through the pilot sessions.
Learning Focus and Approach
Teaching formats: In-person workshops facilitated by training facilitators as part of the Future In Perspective team.
Themes: Engaging, creative and informative workshops on climate adaptation, behaviour change, climate literacy and climate awareness.
Teacher activities:
- Access to a pre-loaded Learn platform with sample courses
- In-person workshop on the usability of Neuroclima tools
- Use of Neuroclima Hub and activities based on play scenarios
- Acces to the creative arts toolkits and activities
Student activities:
- Creative, hands-on and participatory activities on topics such as biodiversity, food, energy and fast fashion
- Opportunity to participate in an EU-wide schools Mural Competition
Timing: Workshops take place between April and July 2026
Format flexibility: Duration and delivery is in line with school timetable. All workshops have been planned as in-person events lasting between 1 to 2 hours depending on student and teacher schedules.
Specific Structure of the Pilot

Design Phase
- Future In Perspective design activities and workshops for educators and students in consultation with the partnering schools.
Training Phase
- Educators and students attend pre-planned workshops.
- Participants test Neuroclima’s digital and non-digital tools through structured lessons and activities.
Implementation Phase
- Learning and workshop activities will take place between April and July 2026.
- Format, duration, and intensity remain flexible to match the requirements of local schools.
- Activities are analogue using the digital tools of the project.
Participant Expectations: It is expected that all participants, educators and students will have full exposure to the Neuroclima Hub and through engagement with the project pilot will enhance their understanding of climate literacy and increase the likelihood of positive climate action.
Questionnaires and Data Collection
Questionnaire Use
Due to the nature of the cohort of students (minors under 18 years of age) and to comply with GDPR and parental consent requirements in the schools, an observation log will be completed during the school pilots capturing the data and outcomes of the workshops. A limited collection of photographs will be taken to support evidence of activities.
Data Collected includes:
- School name and participant cohort e.g. Transition year students
- Number of students and age range
- Observation and engagement levels during activities
- Optional group assessment e.g. capture of minorities and impactful quotes
Data Protection:
- Full anonymity guaranteed
- No sensitive personal data collected
- Only aggregated demographic information shared
- GDPR-compliant data handling
- Data used exclusively for evaluation and inclusivity assessment
Support Provided
- In-person workshops facilitated by Future In Perspective for both educators and students
- Neuroclima promotional material and branded resources
- Access to curated hub of high quality scientific climate information to support curriculum development within the schools
- Ongoing support and access to all elements of the Neuroclima Hub – digital and non-digital tools and resources
- Opportunity to win an EU-level competition for their school
Timeline of the Pilot

Call to action
Future In Perspective is inviting educators and students across County Cavan to take part in the Neuroclima project, an initiative designed to strengthen climate‑change with a focus on education, creative arts and climate learning. Neuroclima offers accessible and trustworthy materials and connects classroom learning with creative and practical activities that help students engage confidently with climate-related topics boosting overall climate awareness and literacy.
