On 3 and 4 December 2025, the NEUROCLIMA consortium gathered in Cavan, Ireland, for its fifth Consortium Meeting. Bringing together both long-standing and new faces of the project, the meeting marked an important moment of reflection, coordination, and forward planning as NEUROCLIMA enters its final year.
The meeting was hosted by Future in Perspective, whose warm welcome and organisation created the perfect setting for two days of focused discussion and collaboration. After months of online exchanges, the opportunity to meet in person once again proved invaluable, allowing partners to reconnect, exchange ideas more organically, and strengthen the collaborative spirit that underpins the project.
A central focus of this 5th Consortium Meeting was the preparation of the upcoming pilot phase, which will be kicking into full force in the coming year. Dedicated sessions were held to discuss the practical, methodological, and operational aspects of the pilots, ensuring that all partners are aligned and prepared for the next phase of implementation. These discussions highlighted both the ambition of the pilots and the importance of cross-partner coordination to ensure their success.
Throughout the two days, all consortium partners presented updates on their ongoing work, sharing progress, challenges, and key learnings across the different work packages. These updates provided a comprehensive overview of where the project currently stands and created space for constructive feedback and discussion. Importantly, partners also looked ahead to the next year of NEUROCLIMA, reflecting on priorities and timelines.
Beyond the formal agenda, the meeting also offered valuable moments for informal exchange. Conversations over coffee breaks and meals allowed partners to dive deeper into shared challenges, explore potential synergies, and reconnect on a more personal level. As with previous in-person meetings, these moments reinforced the importance of human connection in sustaining long-term collaborative research and innovation projects.
The Cavan meeting underscored how far NEUROCLIMA has come since its early stages, while also making clear that the coming year will be a crucial one. With pilots about to begin in earnest and final outputs on the horizon, the consortium is now firmly focused on translating research and collaboration into concrete results.
